How many differential diagnosis of cystic breast mass do you have in mind? Here we report an interesting case of apocrine ductal carcinoma in situ (ADCIS) with a large cystic presentation.

Why is it important?

The differential diagnosis of cystic breast mass usually consists of a simple cyst, hematoma, galactocele, and abscess. Infrequently, a rapidly growing IDC and medullary carcinoma with a cystic component could be included.

Perspectives

How many differential diagnosis of cystic breast mass can you have in mind? Our case suggests that apocrine ductal carcinoma in situ could also manifest as a cystic breast mass.
