Using Instagram in a High School biology class.

What is it about?

Tracking the uses of Instagram in high school biology. One particular feature, Instagram Live, helps students have an at-home, hour long review session where they can interact with each other and the teacher. Students responded to the ways in which this helped prepare them for their Midterm exam.

Why is it important?

Not much has been done to consider the uses of Instagram as a social media learning tool in high school classrooms. By reviewing its uses, we can see that phone apps that are heavily part of the student youth culture can be integrated into the classroom and help students blend their daily habits with school.
