What is it about?

PRES is a relatively new disease entity prevalent in children with kidney disease, but seldom reported in adult patients with nephrotic syndrome. It is characterized by altered consciousness, seizure, or visual disturbance and specific brain MRI findings.

Why is it important?

PRES has a reversible course and a relatively good prognosis. We hope to remind clinicians for making correct diagnosis and giving proper managements.

Perspectives

This diagnosis should be kept in mind in adults with nephrotic syndrome complicated with certain neurological symptoms for a better comprehensive care.
