What is it about?

Perception of students regarding the social mission of their medical schools multi-country study. We used qualitative methods with some quantitative data. We found significant variation in the form, focus, and depth of expression of each school’s social mission, significant variation in how and to what extent the mission was externalized in the design of each school’s undergraduate medical education programme, and significant variation in how students perceived the social mission and its translation to their training experiences.

Sharing the experience of bringing the evidence of being socially accountable school is very interesting. Being THEnet member, It is a good chance for us to practice multi country qualitative researches in social accountability and publish our findings globally. In fact we do practice so many activities in our school that express the 10 themes of global consensus of social accountability and through THEnet collaborative researches we have the opportunity to learn how to publish our actions in social accountability issues. We acknowledged THEnet support for the capacity building approach to data analysis and synthesis and giving us the chance to learn how to conduct and apply qualitative researches.
