What is it about?
This special issue of The Global Circulation Project offers diverse perspectives upon "China" as it is perceived globally as an object, whether as an artifact of philology or as an object of future knowledge. The circulating forms, textures and signatures of " twenty-first century Chinoiserie"--geographical, digital, environmental--are already determining our present understandings of global experience.
