What is it about?

The Xaragalls cave has delivered a long late pleistocene sequence that allowed a palaeoclimate reconstruction for this period in Catalonia NE Spain based on small vertebrate and charcoal assemblages.

Why is it important?

It is one of the first late Pleistocene palaeoecological sequences obtained in inner territories of Catalonia from an archaeological site whose results agree with other contemporary records of NE of Iberia.

Perspectives

The multidisciplinary study yields important information in order to compare this registry with other similar studies carried out in different areas of the Iberian Peninsula
