What is it about?

No DNA synthesis occurs in dnaA recA double mutant at high temperature after gamma ray irradiation. In dnaA mutant DNA replication does not start at non permissive temperature. A small dose of gamma ray irradiation allows the mutant to reinitiate the replication. The process is dependent on RecA suggesting a participation of SOS induction.

Why is it important?

Probably the Double Stand Breaks repair process reinitiates DNA replication in dnaA mutant since the phenomenon depends on RecA and RecB.The importance of SOS induction in the process is suggeqted.

Perspectives

The question is how the replicative helicase is loaded on chromosome in the absence od DnaA after gamma ray irradiation.
