Self report of gingivitis and periodontitis in indigenous populations with no access to dental care in Chiapas México

Why is it important?

There is scarce information about periodontal conditions in indigenous populations, we used some of the previously validated questions to estimate prevalence, however, not all validated questions where used in this population because of the lack of periodontal services.

Perspectives

there is an obvious need for dental services, but it is importante to estimase those need, I would be helpful to design a self report instrument for indigenous persons which can help to estimate with more accuracy the prevalence of periodontal conditions
