Why is it important?

The effect of the Holocaust has been a neglected factor in the autobiographies of Anna Freud and has been a neglected topic in psychoanalysis in general.

Perspectives

The effects of the Holocaust on Jewish survivors has been explored with regard to the general population of survivors but rarely when it comes to psychoanalysts themselves. Anna Freud was a Holocaust survivor saved by Gentiles and this fact impacted her significantly both personally and professionally.
