Why is it important?

This paper explores how housing demolition affects labor supply over time and contributes to the literature about how wealth shock affects labor supply.

Perspectives

I think studying the effect of housing demolition on labor supply is valuable and contributes to a better understanding of how wealth shock affects labor supply in China, the largest developing country. This paper alleviates possible endogeneity concerns by arguing that housing demolition is likely to be random across households within the same community. I think the authors did a good job in describing their works and covering necessary parts of the research such as the robustness of the results and the underlying mechanism.
