What is it about?

Seeds as means of species survival and dispersal are often deposited in unfavourable environments. While in soil, they need to protect vulnerable embryo from various biotic and abiotic stresses. During evolution, seeds have developed protection by physical, chemical and biochemical means. Domestication has altered the property of the seed coat impacting seed dormancy. This is the first report of PPO functionality in relation to the domestication in legumes.
