What is it about?

How populations grow and decline is critical for understanding where species occur and how abundant they can become. Because we do not have information for most populations, we need to supplement sparse information on growth, survival and reproduction with more widely available data on the presence or absence of species and their characteristics to determine how populations will respond to management or changing environments.
