What is it about?

When whey proteins are digested in the gut they produce a range of peptides (small protein fragments) and amino acids which in turn go on to, in effect, send signals to or otherwise support the health and function of the vascular (circulatory) system.

Why is it important?

Vascular diseases are one of the leading causes of death in the world, massively impact quality of life for sufferers and are a huge burden on health systems. Developing food-based solutions may be one way to mitigate some of these problems.

Perspectives

Writing this review was a great chance to learn from my high experienced and respected co-authors and a chance to dive deep into the fascinating subject of vascular function, and seeing how it is impacted by what we eat.
