What is it about?

After a trauma, it is common for the dentist to have to fix the compromised teeth with some type of material. The most common are nylon wire, orthodontic wire and fiberglass tape. We were able to analyze the generated stress and its distribution depending on the type of occlusion movement.

Why is it important?

It was possible to analyze the masticatory movements individually and verify the advantage or not of performing a wear on the incisal of the teeth. This procedure aimed to eliminate contact with the antagonist during mandibular protrusion.

We hope that the article will provide the dentist with the necessary foundations to help in choosing the type of splinting.
