What is it about?

Implantation of a bronchoscopic lung volume reduction coil (BLVR-C) is an alternative therapeutic approach that can be used in conjunction with drug treatment in patients with severe emphysema. BLVR-C is both simpler and safer in terms of complications than surgical volume reduction. The aim of this study was to evaluate the mid-term outcomes after BLVR-C treatment.

Why is it important?

Our results show that BLVR-C treatment seems to be effective and safe in patients with severe emphysema in the medium term.

Perspectives

It was a great pleasure for me to write this article, as it was written by authors with whom I have been working for a long time. This article also addresses the medium-term effect of BLVR-C treatment and safety for patients.
