Why is it important?

As one of only a few women in the UK to achieve a position of seniority in cardiology, she is well placed to discuss the gender gap and some of the disadvantages and opportunities women face in trying to build a career in cardiology.

Perspectives

Barbara Casadei is one of the UK's most high-profile cardiologists - male or female. Her observations about the process of 'attrition' which can cause women to be lost or sidelined in their careers is insightful and relevant for any profession.
