What is it about?

The mobile phone has become an essential device in human life. We do most work like bank payment, conferences, watching movies, video games through mobile phones. While doing the work, we sometimes face disturbance due to network issues or congestions in the network. Identifying the users based on the applications they browse or use and providing excellent and seamless services are challenging tasks. We provide a solution to solve these issues in the core network.

Why is it important?

Due to the pandemic situation, most of us must opt for work from home. And broadband internet is not available everywhere. We identify the congestion between the source and the destination and search for sufficient bandwidth for an application if not available, unlike traditionally path-selected methods, and then send the user’s data in multipath. The algorithm finds the best paths to fulfill QoS for the selected application. Our approach identifies the type of application the user is using without compromising the security aspects of the user applications. We got around 70% success in identifying user applications and can fulfill QoS for those applications.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long-standing collaborations. Good QoS is one of the criteria for the user to opt as a service provider. Service providers are also investing a massive amount in upgrading their systems to fulfill user requirements. This article helps the service provider find the application user is using, provides good QoS, and increases the user's trust in the service provider. Thus increases revenue for the service providers.
