Big data and data analytics are important topics in the fields of Information System and Technology Management. The article highlights the shortfall in data analytics talent and recommends certain remedies.
Perspectives
We suggested some approaches to ensure that a sufficient number of qualified people are working in the field of big data and data analytics - AS THEY ARE VERY IMPORTANT. Such approaches include (i) raising awareness about the need for data analytics, (ii) encouraging higher education institutions to offer more data-science-related courses and programs, and (iii) giving data analytics professional status by providing formal credentials.
