What is it about?

Process modelling is an important task in every field. Most of nowadays systems are based on token approach. It requires creation of multiple instances and give no control on resources used. The idea explored in the paper is based on continuous approach in which the state of each element identified in the process is considered independently. The paper presents how the simple approach of Event - Condition - Action is applied to process modeling. The control layer of Unified Process Metamodel is presented. There are also some ideas on how to model behavior in processes.

Why is it important?

Unified Process Metamodel is a new idea in the field. It is focused on presenting processes as continuous phenomena rather than token based one. The control aspect of the process is the most important one in modeling the dynamic of process.

Perspectives

Presented approach is breaking the all mighty token approach which is base for BPMN or UML like process modeling. Future work will show pragmatics of this approach and hopefully new tools will be developed.
