Graphical route information panel and macroscopic simulation based investigation of its control benefits

What is it about?

A graphical route information panel (GRIP) based advanced traveler information system is proposed, and a macroscopic traffic flow model based simulation approach for investigating GRIP benefits was proposed. A case study of a simulated freeway network was conducted to showcase the effective of the approach.

Why is it important?

The simulation approach combines the classical macroscopic freeway network traffic model METANET with the GRIP influence model, thus making the GRIP benefits evaluation more accurate.
