All about setting up an IoT in (Indian) railways and how it could be made best use of.

Why is it important?

Passenger service requests (such as catering, health issues, cleaning, etc.)could be aggregated to improve service within a running train. In addition, crew members could be tracked. These are specially significant in the context of Indian railways.

Perspectives

The paper describes scenarios where mobile agents can be used within a train and provide for more comfort and safety. In addition, inter train and train to station (& vice versa) communication is also described using such agents. Overall, we wish the Indian railways look into this work and implement it!
