This study explains the impact of electronic educational materials on printed programming textbook adoption.

Why is it important?
This study is important in two ways. First, it tells educators/teachers that we should use both printed textbooks and online educational materials since students learn from these two platforms of media. Second, textbook writers/publishers are informed that they could make additional educational materials as part of the printed textbooks.
Perspectives
