What is it about?

In healthcare, having more women in leadership roles can improve decision-making, workplace culture, and overall performance. However, women remain underrepresented in senior positions. Our study explains how supportive work environments and professional networks can help women leaders build confidence, authenticity, and resilience, qualities that sustain career growth. We interviewed 30 senior healthcare leaders in Australia and found that external support triggers a positive cycle, where personal strengths grow and are reinvested to achieve continued success. Based on these insights, we developed a practical model called "Success is Contagious", which shows how healthcare organizations can create conditions that help women leaders thrive and strengthen the leadership pipeline.
