What is it about?
A strategy map visually represents how the critical elements of an organisation’s strategies are linked together. It is considered an integral element of a firm's strategic performance management system. This article synthesizes the existing literature on strategy maps to develop a practitioner's guide to design strategy maps.

Why is it important?
This study develops 14 design principles across seven features of strategy maps. This paper can serve as a “one-stop shop” for both practitioners and researchers seeking a comprehensive understanding of the current state of the strategy map design features and principles.
Perspectives
I hope both practitioners and academic researchers working in the area of strategy maps (and balanced scorecards) will find this article useful.
