What is it about?

Many are of the opinion that companies should do good. A lot of companies have started thinking about their own corporate social responsibility (CSR). This means that they have started considering what impact their actions have on different groups beyond (and within) their own organization. Some examples of CSR themes are workers rights, environmental impact and impact on local communities. However, not everyone agrees about what is important in CSR. We have studied the differences in what companies talk about in their own CSR communication, what newspapers write about, and what consumers bring up on social media. We studied communication related to three major fast fashion brands, and concluded that there are difference in what topics are emphasised by companies, newspapers, and consumers. We found that these differences reflect the underlying motives of these groups.
