Bank risk and returns: did prompt corrective action make a difference?

What is it about?

We show how the prompt corrective action (PCA) framework, which seeks to nurture otherwise weak banks back to health, implemented by the Indian central bank, implemented their risk and returns. We find that banks which have undergone the PCA framework are less risky and show higher growth potential.
