Flexible work environments are becoming more popular, but what is the impact on productivity for teams and leaders? This study shows that teams are more productive and despite relinquishing an office, leaders are more satisfied and equally productive within Activity-Based environments.

Why is it important?

Flexible, or activity-based work environments are changing the way we think of leaders and the way they encourage productivity. By tracking user perceptions over time, this study shows that teams can realise even greater productivity when leaders focus on team interaction and effective decision-making.

Perspectives

I hope this article helps create a more balanced discussion around the pros and cons of activity-based work environments. A flexible approach to workplace design is not for every business, but for those that choose the right approach for themselves, flexible work environments can act as an ongoing positive catalyst.
