Why is it important?

This study clearly stands out in terms of the fact that it advances the frontiers of knowledge about the critical role employment security plays in a worker's decision to take up additional job(s) or not.

Perspectives

The novelty in this paper had to do with the development of an employment index using four indicators involving the sector of employment, ownership of social security insurance package, the existence of trade union and employment contract. The study had an interesting finding regarding the fact that increasing employment security seem to fuel the decision to moonlight for those with two and three or more jobs. This, in the authors' view, should be further interrogated.
