What is it about?
Charismatic political leadership can influence how people adhere to hygienic public safety behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, people's perceptions play a key role. When people do not perceive the Covid-19 pandemic to be much of a crisis, charismatic leadership can be particularly helpful in increasing safety behaviors.

Understanding what makes people adhere to Covid safety protocols will help curve the spread of the virus.
Perspectives
I find id personally interesting, that charismatic public leadership is important in conditions where people have not already perceived Covid as a crisis. Can leadership fill the gap when peoples' own motives for actions simply aren't there?
