What is it about?

Green leadership is crucial for ensuring sustainable long-term performance within organizations, as it drives the necessary changes towards sustainability. For the first time, we have demonstrated that green leadership influences employees' environmentally friendly behaviors and their engagement at work through a green organizational culture in the energy sector.

Why is it important?

Our findings demonstrate the crucial role of green leadership and organizational culture in shaping employees' eco-friendly behaviors and their work engagement. To strengthen their connection with employees in fostering a green culture, top management must go beyond paying lip service; they need to show full commitment and initiate various green initiatives, such as green innovation projects and awareness campaigns, to inspire employees to take an active role in sustainability efforts.

Perspectives

We are honored to share our latest research, where my co-authors and I delve deep into the intricate connections between green leadership, organizational culture, environmentally friendly behavior, work engagement, and job roles. This work is not just academic; it is a urgent call to action. Organizations must move beyond mere greenwashing; they must do some serious reorientations for "what exactly green movement is all about - for ourselves, for future generations, and for every living thing on this planet - the Earth."
