What is it about?

Not all people who want to be English teachers enter the profession with positive associations with reading. Our research found that some people who want to be English teachers considered themselves to be average readers and some considered themselves to be avid readers. In addition, some identified as being a literature teacher, one identified as being a reading teacher, and most identified as both. Teacher education courses in universities can help all future English teachers to develop positive reading identities and to identify as teachers of reading.
