What is it about?
This paper emphasizes the urgent need to recognize and articulate the impact of research in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) beyond traditional academic metrics, especially amid growing skepticism about EDI’s value. It introduces the concept of Impact Articles as a novel scholarly format designed to showcase tangible changes resulting from EDI research, such as advancements in policies, practices, and organizational cultures. Drawing on the journal’s first five invited Impact Articles, the paper highlights the importance of collaborative, ethical, and co-creative approaches that center marginalized voices. Impact Articles offer an important forum for scholars, institutions, and practitioners seeking to bridge the divide between theory and real-world application.
