Controversy over National Education in Hong Kong
What is it about?
This paper is about the perception of Hong Kong secondary school teachers on their national identity and National Education. It is found that they have different understanding on their national identity and the meanings of National Education, which aims at cultivating a Chinese national citizen.
Why is it important?
Thsi finding is helpful to understand there are different understanding on the meanings of a Chinese national identity, as well as the different aims, contents and how to teach National Education. It would be a reference for those who are involved in teaching citizenship education or policy makers.
