What is it about?

It is empirically revealed that value creation can be obtained beyond own self-interest of enterprises for the good of the society. Collaborative innovation leadership is based on the organising of the heterogeneities of knowledge domains and individual and organisational behaviors for future sense making to illustrate needed initiatives. Hereby, sustainable actions are developed and supported A short-term challenge is present from reduced revenue in own enterprise. However, a long term future advantage is obtained for both the ecosystem, individual ecosystem participants and the society. This needs to be addressed in the ecosystem. The findings are illustrated in a model for insight, understanding and dissemination of collaborative innovation leadership in ecosystems to pursue robust UN SDGs in practice.

Why is it important?

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 2021 have highlighted that many actors are involved in reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It thus requires collaborative innovation leadership among independent and yet interdependent stakeholders as actually also stressed in the UN SDG number 17 on ’partnerships for the goals’. Collaborative innovation leadership is also suggested in organisational literature to aim for solving grand challenges in society. The enhanced understanding of collaborative innovation leadership of independent and yet interdependent stakeholders in ecosystems is illustrated to overcome Knightian unknowns inherently contained for reaching the SDG’s in 2030.
