What is it about?

It is an optimization algorithm that tries to mimic the fertilization process when the gametes of both parents are joint to produce a new offspring. This technique proved to be efficient solving truss structural optimization problems with several variants in a continuous domain.

Why is it important?

The result improve current literature finding in number of iterations and weight of the solutions in all the variants of a bridge truss problem.

Perspectives

This algorithm is robust in finding results in 2d dimensional truss optimization problems but it is not direct to use it 3d truss problems because it has some specific modification operators that limit this aspect.
