What is it about?

The COVID-19 pandemic implied a significant liquidity strain for the restaurant industry. However, not all restaurants went bankrupt or fell into financial distress during the enforcement of social distancing measures, which occurred in addition to a challenging low liquidity environment. Some were more resilient than others, which is the matter of this study. Size and legacy are variables associated with restaurant resilience, and layoffs and large drops in sales were related to financial distress.
