What is it about?

Many multinationals adopt global multi-stakeholder initiatives, such as the United Nations Global Compact and Global Reporting Initiatives, to signal their commitment to global CSR. This study stands as one of the first empirical studies to examine the role of multi-stakeholder initiatives in the relationship between internationalization and firm performance. The results demonstrate that the signaling effect of multi-stakeholder initiatives helps MNEs reduce the disadvantages faced by foreign companies and improve profitability during internationalization.
