What is it about?
Reducing crime rates, by choosing the appropriate policing strategy based on criminal demand in a particular locality, implies increasing the sense of security and improving people's quality of life.

Why is it important?
The cost to society to maintain an efficient police system is very high, anywhere on the planet. If we manage to identify strategies that are more effective in a given context, this makes it possible to reduce spending on resources used to reduce crime.
Perspectives
Personally, I believe that this study may show the way for new research to be carried out using operational research methods and tools to solve public security problems. Public safety is an area that impacts the lives of millions of people around the world.
