What is it about?
As COVID-19 continues to spread across countries, it is becoming increasingly clear that the presence of pre-existing chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) dramatically increases the risk of aggravation in patients who contract the virus. This paper proposes strategies on how to strengthen governance mechanisms across sectors to help countries address the double burden of CDs and NCDs in public health emergencies.
