What is it about?

The paper describes the idea of food sharing and related food sharing points. We proposed the (Food sharing Attitudes and Behaviors) model which has proven to be a reliable tool for exploring consumer attitudes towards food sharing. Based on the results of this model, both university and city authorities can plan activities and infrastructure to reduce food waste.

Why is it important?

The theoretical contribution to science is to present the current state of knowledge on the main trends related to sustainable consumption, as well as to demonstrate how awareness of this consumption has changed over the last few years. Our contribution to the existing body of literature is, first, to refer to the food sharing phenomenon from the perspective of its perception by students, and second, to broaden the knowledge about their attitudes and behaviors and their determinants, which may constitute comparative material for other studies. The findings of our study are relevant for reducing food wastes and promote sustainable consumption. In addition, due to the need to disseminate knowledge about FS, the article also plays an educational role in this regard. Based on the results, and on the proposed actions, both university and city authorities can plan activities and infrastructure to reduce food waste. The findings on the most relevant attitudes and behaviors could be utilized by the above authorities to properly design the communication and promotion strategy in terms of food sharing.

Perspectives

I believe that the publication will be of interest, because there are not many articles on this topic. It can be comparative material for other researchers.
