What is it about?

We discuss two effects, namely the chemical shift induced by a chemical bond, and the final-state effect of isolated metal clusters, which can show tantamount manifestations in the photoemission characterization of interface.

Why is it important?

If the mentioned effects are not considered and distinguished, the photoemission characterizations of an metal/organic interface can lead to incorrect conclusions on both chemical and electronic interfacial properties.
