Why is it important?

The XMCD in RIXS investigation of a localized magnetic system provides an important starting point for further investigations of related ferromagnetic systems containing localized magnetic ions such as dilute magnetic semiconductors that are currently receiving strong attention for use in nanostructured hybrid materials and spintronic applications.
