What is it about?

This paper generally explains how the HLB pathogenic bacteria infect and reproduce in the pest bug that plagues citrus crops. A number of key parameters are evaluated as to how they influence the acquisition and spread of HLB infection.

Why is it important?

Understanding the host-parasite cycle is fundamental to designing effective disease control and eradication strategies. Insights into the infection cycle can surely provide windows for controlling the disease whilst still self-contained.

Perspectives

Participating in this project was fundamental in debuting in this new field of research for me. I am sure the results presented illustrate an untapped perspective into HLB infection in the field, based on the interesting data organised mainly by Dr Wu.
