The cellular prion protein counteracts cardiac oxidative stress

What is it about?

The cellular prion protein (PrPC) is involved in fatal neurological diseases, but its physiologic fuction is still unknown. By using a heart experimental paradigm, here we show that PrPC contributes to cell defences against oxidative stress.
