What is it about?
Wharton’s jelly (umbilical cord matrix) is promising source of pluripotent stem cells that can differentiate to cardiomyocytes, and drive functional myocardial regeneration. We show in high cell uptake administered one hour after administratio to an infarct-related artery. No clinical symptoms or ECG signs of myocardial ischaemia occurred with cell delivery

Why is it important?
Wharton's Jelly Plurioptent Stem Cells can be safely administered to infarct-related artery 5-7 days after myocardial infarction. High cell uptake makes regenerative therapy promising.
