Why is it important?

The function and biophysical properties of proteins are dependent on the structure, in particular on the topology of the protein. The change in the protein's topology may lead to complete loss of the function. Therefore, rebuilding the missing protein chain in topologically correct way is crucial for obtaining functional structure.

Perspectives

The server may be used either to fill in the gaps in the protein structures in a topologically correct way, or can be used to validate the topology of the whole structures, e.g. from the CASP competition.
