What is it about?

This study from the Philippines sought to decipher the meanings surrounding the professional confidence of these upstart professional journalists through phenomenology. Interviews with 12 pandemic graduates of journalism, coupled with implementing a Love and Breakup Letter Methodology (borrowed from user-experience research), captured a shift in their behavioral tendencies given their transition from the classroom to the newsroom.

The study helps newsroom determine how to handle journalism graduates whose training in journalism got disrupted by numerous disasters and human-made tragedies. COVID-19 is one disruption, and so are civil strife, weather disturbances, among others.
