What is it about?

This paper introduces a simple empirical model that helps you to estimate how refrigerant leakage of single-speed air conditioners using fixed orifice affects the cooling and electricity consumption of the entire building in a building simulation program without too much modification to the model.

Why is it important?

This work is unique because a) It helps you to estimate impact of refrigerant leakage at air conditioners to whole building performance quickly b) It not only accounts for drop of air conditioner efficiency due to refrigerant leakage, it also accounts for changes of their cooling capacity and dehumidification performance.
