What is it about?

Students of Kumasi academy started showing signs and symptoms typically among the symptoms were a rise in body temperature above 38-39 degree Celsius,the health system picked the cases and started to investigate the cases, the first (index case) went for a sporting activities outside the school,his friends who took him to the hospital also became sick within 24 hours showing signs and symptoms of same conditions. All stakeholders came together to mobilize resources to fight the disease in a very aggressive manner using all modern and globally accepted methodology. 96 people were affected with 4 deaths (1 female and 4 males)

Why is it important?

With strong involvement of all relevant stakeholders we were able to bring down the disease to a halt with in a limited space of time relatively case fatality rate.

Perspectives

The publishing of this paper has given me the taste to doing more of such works and sharing it with the international communities i feel inspired by the sort of personalities who read this paper and their comments they give are more encouraging.
