What is it about?

This work focusses on present and emerging human dimensions in natural resource management through the lens of contemporary music as an ingenious avenue of mainstreaming environ-mental education for a peaceful, safe, sustain-able, and resilient future. The study offers a novel model for understanding the link between con-temporary music use, environment, and social well-being in East Africa.

Why is it important?

Our findings give credence on the importance and use of contemporary music, entertainment, and metaphors, in addressing current and emerging environmental concerns. We also affirm that African music can be used for entertainment, communication of messages and promotion of positive behaviour change.
